Information system

Information systems, an integrated set of components for collecting, storing, and processing data and for providing information, knowledge, and digital products. Business firms and other organizations rely on information systems to carry out and manage their operations, interact with their customers and suppliers, and compete in the marketplace. Information system s are used to run inter organizational supply chains  and electronic markets. For instance,   corporations use information systems to process financial accounts, to manage their human resources, and to reach their potential customers  with online promotions. many major companies are built entirely around information systems. These include eBay, a largely auction marketplace; Amazon, an expending electronic mall and provider of cloud computing services; Alibaba, a business-to-business e-marketplace; and Google, a search engine company that drives most of its revenue from keyword advertising o internet searches.Government deploy information systems to provide services cost-effectively to citizens. Digital goods__such as electronic books, video products, and software__and online services, such as gaming and social networking, are deliver with information systems, generally internet based, for conducting much of their personal lives: for socializing, study, shopping, banking, and entertainment.

As major new technologies for recording and processing information were invented over the millennia, new capabilities appeared, and people became empowered. The invention of the printing-press by Johannes Gutenberg in the mid-15th century and the invention of a mechanical calculator by Blaise Pascal in the 17th century are but two examples. These inventions led to a profound revolution in the ability to record, process, disseminate, and reach for information and knowledge. This led, in turn, to even deeper changes in individual lives, business  organization, and human governance.

The first large-scale mechanical information system was Herman Hollerith's census tabulator. Invented in time to process the 1890 U.S.census, Hollerith's machine represented a major step in automation, as well as an inspiration to develop computerized information systems.

Criminal tendency detection from facial image and gender bias effect

Abstract Explosive performance and memory space growth in computing machines, along with resent specialization of deep learning models have radically boosted the role of images in semantic pattern recognition. In the same way a textual post on social media reveals individuals characteristics of  its author, facial images may manifest same personality traits. This work is milestone in our attempt to infer personality traits from facial images. With this ultimate goal in mind, here we explore a new level of image understanding, inferring criminal tendency from facial image via deep learning. In particular, two deep learning models, included a standard feedforward neural network (SNN) and a convolution neural network (CNN) are  applied to discriminant criminal and non-criminal facial images.Confusion matrix and training and test accuracies are reported for both models, using tenfold cross-validation on a set of 10,000 facial images. The CNN was more consistent then the SNN in l...

How to Use Military Strategy to Build Batter Habits

Sun Tzu was a legendary military  strategists in ancient china and he is the author of the famous book, The Art of War . He was a master of "soft power" and the father of " agile warfare." Whenever possible, he preferred to win without fighting or, at the very least, to the win the easiest battles first. He wrote, "In war, the victorious strategist only seeks battles after the victory has been won."  He advised his troops to "make your way by unexpected routes and attack unguarded spots." And he further stated, " military tactics are like water. For water, in its natural course, run away from high places and hastens downwards. so, in war, the way is to avoid what is strong and strike at what is weak." the teachings of Sun Tzu extend far beyond the field of battle because they are focused on finding the easiest way to achieve the specific  goal. His approaches can be applied to everything from business growth and goal sitting to ...
